What you need to know: Most of the tick neurotransmitters roles at specific body sides remain obscured. Systematic identification of their sources and releasing sides along the signal transduction via specific receptor is the starting point to understand the neurotransmitter - driven physiology of these medically important arthropods. In addition, synthesis pathways of neurotransmitters represent a great object to study in order to understand their functions.               

Où on va? We aim to investigate  different neurotransmitters and their receptors at different tick tissues. In combination with neuropeptidergic system we aim to explore various signaling pathways in tick body that can provide a complex picture of the unique tick physiology.
